The Arab Parliament warned of “the danger that the Israeli occupying authorities will continue excavations they are carrying out around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, aimed at its foundation and preventing the Department of Islamic Endowments from repairing and maintaining the mosque.”

Parliament also condemned in a statement Israel’s plan to “register the land around the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the Jewish people in an attempt to Judaize and seize large areas in occupied Jerusalem, and to change the city’s historical and religious sites.”

He called on UNESCO and all international organizations to fulfill their obligations to end the ongoing aggression against Jerusalem and its holy places through practical and effective measures, and to send a United Nations fact-finding committee to review the situation in Jerusalem, especially the round-the-clock excavations under the Al- Aksa.

The Arab Parliament reaffirmed its full support for the people of Jerusalem in their steadfastness in defending this great Islamic edifice, calling on the international community to take immediate and urgent action to stop these violations of religious shrines.
