Palestinian State Attorney Akram al-Khatib told AFP that the Palestinian Authority had handed over the bullet that killed Palestinian-American journalist Shirin Abu Akle to American experts for criminal analysis.

Al-Khatib explained that the bullet that killed Abu Akila on May 11 while covering an Israeli military operation in the occupied West Bank was handed over to the United States for later return to the Palestinian Authority.

The State Attorney announced that the Palestinian Authority had agreed to hand over the bullet after receiving a formal request from the US for a forensic examination, and that the bullet would be examined at the US embassy in Jerusalem by experts from the United States. states.

Journalist Shirin Abu Akle, who worked for Al Jazeera for 25 years, was shot in the head while covering an Israeli military operation on the outskirts of the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank.

The Palestinian Public Prosecutor announced following an investigation by the Palestinian State Prosecutor’s Office that the bullet that killed Shirin was fired by the Israeli army.
