The Israeli Air Force bombed a number of Hamas bases in the center of the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning.
The Israeli army announced on Friday night that it intercepted a rocket from the Gaza Strip towards Ashkelon in the south of Israel and another rocket landed in an open area near the same city.
The army spokesman said: The first missile was intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system.
Israeli sources confirmed that at least two rockets were fired from Gaza towards Ashkelon.
This spokesman stated that “the warning has been activated in the city of Ashkelon and near Gaza”, and said that the warning sirens have sounded in these two areas.
The Magen David Adom organization also announced that three settlers were injured while running to shelters after the sirens went off in Ashkelon and were taken to hospital for treatment.
