During a meeting with sheikhs, dignitaries and representatives of the local community of northern Badia, King Abdullah II of Jordan emphasized the “importance of moving from the work of blocs under the dome of parliament to program parties”, expressing optimism about which constitute the “Jordanian energy” and their opportunities for developing parties to their programs dealt with various economic and political sectors that concern the interests of citizens.
He pointed to the importance of “responding to the skeptics and seekers of Jordanian society”, explaining that “state institutions work with each other in a positive atmosphere.” Regarding the concept of economic modernization, which was recently launched with the participation of the private sector, he indicated that “efforts are being made to attract more investment and strategic partnerships, especially within the framework of regional cooperation opportunities with our brothers.”
Regarding the security challenges Jordan is facing on its northern borders, King Abdullah confirmed that “the army and security forces are on the lookout for any threat that may encircle the country”, stressing that “clear instructions in this regard, and a red line, which is unacceptable.” He stated that “there is communication with the Syrian and Russian sides about security risks at the borders.”
Regarding the Jeddah Summit on Security and Development, which took place last Saturday in Saudi Arabia, he expressed his satisfaction with the positive atmosphere he saw during the summit, which he called “successful”, noting “the desire of Arab leaders to continue coordination and consultations on Arab issues and the region.” He noted that “Jordan reaffirmed during the summit its firm and firm position on the Palestinian issue.”
