UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq said that since the signing of the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea between Russia and Ukraine under the auspices of the UN and Turkey, “the parties to the agreement and the UN have maintained constant contacts, including yesterday. All parties reaffirmed their commitment to the agreement.

Haq indicated, according to the Russian news agency TASS, that “by tomorrow, all parties and the United Nations will be present at the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul”, stating that “we expect the first ships to start moving within a few days” . It also expects to “publish detailed procedures for courts in the near future.”

Haq stressed that the UN believes that the attack on the port of Odessa (carried out by Russian troops) did not affect the possibility of the movement of ships loaded with grain, in response to the question of whether the consequences of the bombing could affect the implementation of the grain agreements.
