Regarding the possibility of activating the Russian Mir card banking system in Iran, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran said: “I think that the Mir card system will be activated in Iran in the near future, and its use in the country has been agreed.” He said that an agreement had been reached between Tehran and Moscow on a trade exchange, in particular, on the import of a large amount of Russian grain, noting that the volume of grain that Iran wants to import from Russia could reach 10 million tons.
The Assistant Foreign Minister of Iran emphasized that “if the BRICS group strengthens, the dollar will be removed from transactions between member countries of the group”, noting that “there is an important issue, namely the issue of our entry into Eurasia.” , Shanghai and BRICS, which we hope will be achieved through the efforts of the competent authorities.”
With regard to work within the Shanghai Organization, he explained that his country hoped that the proposed common currency would soon be approved for financial and commercial transactions for the member states of this organization.
