Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said during the opening ceremony of the Joint Coordination Center for the Export of Ukrainian Grain via the Black Sea that “more than 25 million tons of grain are stuck in Ukrainian ports”, explaining that “coordination will take place militarily and civilly” with Turkey to ensure the transit of consignments of grain.

He believed that “The Istanbul Grain Transportation Agreement is very important for African countries and other grain importing countries” and believed that “the signing of the agreement represents a very important turning point and the documents to be signed in the context of the implementation of the agreement will be valid in within 120 days and will be reviewed thereafter.” He pointed out that “the agreement will help reduce grain prices, and we hope to reach a similar agreement on energy.”
