US President Joe Biden has re-infected with the coronavirus after announcing his recovery from a previous infection with the virus and will return to self-quarantine, according to what the White House doctor said Saturday.
And Kevin O’Connor, the president’s physician, wrote in a memo that an “antigen test” performed on Biden “was positive Saturday morning” and that the president “will resume strict isolation measures.”
He explained that Biden’s case is similar to cases where patients are treated with the drug paxiloid and get rid of the virus, but their test results are positive after completing the treatment.
And the White House said that Biden, despite being reinfected with the virus, has no symptoms and that he is feeling “absolutely fine.”
After the result came back positive, Biden said on Twitter that it could happen to “a few people.”
He added: I have no symptoms, but I am isolating myself for the safety of those around me, I am still at work and will resume my activities soon.
Biden, 79, has tested negative for the past four days and there are no plans to resume treatment for his lack of symptoms, O’Connor said.
Biden had previously described his infection with the “coronavirus” as mild and said that he could continue to work during isolation, and attributed the mild symptoms of the disease to the effect of vaccines and other treatments.
