State Department spokesman Ned Price indicated that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken spoke with his Turkish counterpart Cavusoglu, where Blinken praised Turkey’s diplomatic efforts, which led to the shipment of the first batch of Ukrainian grain from the Black Sea since the beginning of the Russian operation to Ukraine.

Blinken stressed “the importance of working together to ensure that additional ships can leave, as well as the importance of holding Moscow accountable for its commitments,” as he raised the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and noted that “the United States is ready to engage bilaterally and with like-minded partners, as well as in our role as Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group to promote dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as to achieve a long-term political solution to the conflict.

“Blinken and Jawish discussed ways to improve coordination as well as NATO unity regarding the further threat of Russian escalation and aggression against Ukraine,” Price added.
