The extremist group Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the attack in Kabul on Saturday that killed at least three people and wounded 21, hours after it claimed responsibility for another attack in the Afghan capital that left eight dead on Friday. .
“Soldiers of the caliphate detonated an explosive device in a concentration of infidels in Kabul,” the group said, quoted by the Efe news agency, on the Telegram platform.
The attack took place in a residential area in western Kabul inhabited mainly by the minority Shia Hazara population.
ISIS, made up of Sunnis, claimed to have killed 20 people in the attack, although Afghan authorities only count three dead and 21 wounded.
