At the press conference, the director of the Macau Health Services advised the population to limit themselves to essential activities and comply with the mandatory use of a mask.
Macao, which follows the zero case policy imposed by Beijing, entered a process that the authorities described as normalization, after an outbreak that infected more than 1,800 people in a month and a half and caused six deaths, elderly people diagnosed with chronic diseases. .
Macao then moved towards the isolation of parts of the city and mandatory quarantines, towards a partial confinement, with the closure of establishments, which went on to cover the casinos, and opted for almost daily mass testing of the population to eradicate the outbreak.
