Lt. Gen. Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, said: Naval weapons with long-range precision bombarded a large ammunition depot near the village of “Oman” in the Cherkasy region, where more than 300 “HIMARS” missiles were located. Launcher systems were destroyed, as well as a large amount of ammunition for the American M777 howitzer.
Konashenkov added: As a result of the active offensive operations of the Russian Armed Forces, the 2nd Mechanized Battalion of the 14th Mechanized Brigade lost its combat ability with the loss of more than 340 killed and wounded people, and the rest of the personnel accidentally left their positions. .
The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Russia also announced the downing of a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter plane in the area of the village of “Tortskoye” in the Donetsk People’s Republic in the past 24 hours.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the total number of Ukrainian warplanes shot down since the start of special military operations in Ukraine has reached 264.
