The Government of Ukraine decided that “due to a fundamental change in circumstances, the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, which was signed on March 6, 1992 in Chernihiv, was terminated.” The agreement provided for cooperation between the ministries of the two countries in the field of combating crime, protecting public order, implementing criminal penalties, searching for missing persons, avoiding paying child support after divorce, litigation, identifying undocumented persons, and ensuring road safety.

The Government instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to notify the Belarusian side of the termination of this agreement from the moment of receipt of this notification. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine also terminated the agreement with the government of Belarus on industrial and scientific-technical cooperation between enterprises and organizations of the military-industrial complex, signed on June 25, 2001 in Kyiv.

According to the Russian authorities, since February 24, the Russian armed forces have continued to conduct a special military operation to “defend Donbass” in southeastern Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously confirmed that Russia has no plans to occupy Ukrainian lands, explaining that “the purpose of the operation is to protect people who have been persecuted and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.”
