The National Dialogue, which opens on Saturday in N’Djamena, will bring together 1,400 representatives of the military government, civil society, opposition parties, trade unions and rebel groups in Chad, which play a key role in international efforts to eradicate jihadists in the Sahel region. .

The “Comprehensive National Dialogue” is three weeks long and was proposed by the head of the ruling military council, General Mohamed Idris Debi, who came to power after the assassination of his father Idris Debi Itno last year after ruling the country. for thirty years.
