According to what the New York Times quoted on Friday, August 26, quoting a source in Damascus, Syria has asked its Iranian allies not to attack Israel from inside Syria for fear of falling into an all-out war.
This request was raised during the online meeting of Iran, Iran-backed groups in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, Hezbollah and the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. This meeting was reported by Ghais Qureshi, an analyst close to the Iranian government, and a source in Damascus confirmed it to the American newspaper.
