Fearing an all-out war… this is what Syria has asked from Iran!

According to what the New York Times quoted on Friday, August 26, quoting a source in Damascus, Syria has asked its Iranian allies not to attack Israel from inside Syria for fear of falling into an all-out war.

This request was raised during the online meeting of Iran, Iran-backed groups in Syria, Iraq and Yemen, Hezbollah and the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. This meeting was reported by Ghais Qureshi, an analyst close to the Iranian government, and a source in Damascus confirmed it to the American newspaper.

The source clarified that “Syrians do not want to attack Israel from their own land, because doing so would risk dragging the country into an all-out war at a time when the situation is already chaotic.”

Hence, the Iranian-led “Axis of Resistance” targeted US bases in Syria, hoping that this would force the US to pressure Israel to stop its attacks.

Meanwhile, senior U.S. officials told The New York Times that the August 15 drone strikes on a U.S. military base in Syria were more sophisticated than previous strikes and may have been Iran’s attempt to respond to an earlier Israeli airstrike.

The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported the death of at least 3 Syrian soldiers in Israeli airstrikes on areas near Tartus on the coast of Syria and areas near this base, a day before the drone attack on the American base. The capital, Damascus

Iran-affiliated military experts concluded during a remote meeting with their proxies that the US military, although stronger than Iran’s proxies in Syria and closer to a decisive response to the attacks, the Biden administration is trying to silence It is to reduce the tensions in the region and it will do the job. Don’t risk starting a new war. Based on this conclusion, the participants of the meeting decided to bomb the American bases in Syria in response to any Israeli attack on this country.

According to this American newspaper, Iran-backed groups targeted al-Tanf base in response to Israel’s attacks in Syria last year.
