Russia says Ukrainian counteroffensive failed, kyiv rejects
Italian oil company Eni said on Wednesday that it was affected by the suspension of Russian gas supplies to Italy through the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, which was closed until Saturday for maintenance work, and is expected to receive around 75% of the usual volume.
The Russian energy company Gazprom “temporarily” suspended the supply of gas through the gas pipeline that connects Russia with Europe on Wednesday, as had already been announced.
Gazprom reduces the flow of gas to Europe for three days with the suspension of Nord Stream 1
Russia’s state energy company announced in early August that would cut off the flow of gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline for maintenance work that will last until next Saturday.
According to Gazprom, the only working turbine, which is located at the Portovaya station, needed maintenance.
According to Eni, Gazprom reported that Italy would receive about 20 million cubic meters of gascompared to 27 million cubic meters in recent days, according to the Associated Press.
Gazprom has gradually reduced the flow of gas through Nord Stream 1 citing technical issues such as “equipment repair”.
For Germany, these are deliberately provoked “political cuts” to drive up energy prices. Russia cut about a third of supplies to Germany.
Russia has also reduced the flow of gas to other European countries that have shown support for Ukraine.
