The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said: “At least three people were killed in Israeli strikes that hit Aleppo International Airport and its environs on Tuesday evening for the second time in a week, putting it out of action. “As a result of the strikes, the main runway was damaged, which led to the suspension of work on it, according to official media, and the redirection of flights to Damascus International Airport.

The observatory said: “Three people were killed and another five were injured in the strikes, whose nationality and identity are not yet clear,” showing that “the strikes resulted in the destruction of a warehouse belonging to pro-Iranian groups.” In this regard, Syria’s only private airline, Cham Wings, announced: “Due to the current circumstances, all of our flights will be moved from Aleppo Airport to Damascus International Airport.”

According to official media reports, on the first day of this month, Israel attacked the Aleppo airport, causing material damage to it. In recent years, Israel has launched hundreds of airstrikes in Syria against targets of the Syrian army, Iranian and Lebanese Hezbollah.
