German Foreign Minister Annallina Birbock arrived in Kiev on Saturday, DPA news agency said.
The agency said it was Berbuk’s second visit to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s special military operation.
The German Foreign Minister will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba in Kiev.
According to the agency, the details of the minister’s visit schedule were kept secret from the beginning for security reasons. And only found out that he arrived in Kiev by train from Poland.
“I came to Kiev today to assure the Ukrainians that they can continue to trust us, and we will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary – with weapons, humanitarian and financial aid,” Berbuk said.
Upon his arrival in Kiev, Berbock identified two of the most important issues to be discussed during his visit: Germany’s assistance to the Kyiv authorities in removing landmines and its support in the fight against war crimes.
It is noteworthy that Birbock’s first visit was on May 10.
