Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraei announced the killing of an Israeli officer during clashes with Palestinians last night in the Jalameh area north of Jenin, according to a social media statement.

Israeli forces launched a wide-ranging sweep near the Al-Jalama military checkpoint, arrested two civilians and attempted to arrest two youths, shooting and seriously injuring them before they were later declared dead.

In the meantime, the Israeli authorities decided “to close the Al-Jalamah checkpoint to vehicular traffic until Friday morning, except for the normal passage of workers and goods.”
