President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev described the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as “the most successful international organization in the modern world, and in the intellectual and institutional foundation, the organization is devoid of confrontation and blocs, which contributes to the growth of the position and popularity of the organization at the international level.”

He explained during the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that “the geography of participation in the work of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is naturally expanding from year to year, and this indicates a great demand for the organization.”

It is worth noting that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international organization established in 2001 and includes eight member states: Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Pakistan, in addition to India. At present, Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia have an “observer” status, while Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey and Sri Lanka have a “partner” status.
