Barcelona defender Gerard Pique’s separation from Colombian singer Shakira is still in the attention of the Spanish press, who recently talked about the differences between the two sides in divorce negotiations.
Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia reported that Pique was not happy with the terms of Shakira’s divorce and left the Colombian singer’s latest meeting with the star to discuss custody of their children angry.
The newspaper noted that Pique is frustrated with the obstacles Shakira is putting in the way of a final divorce settlement.
“La Vanguardia” pointed out that despite the insistence of Shakira and Pique to prevent the issue of the custody of their two children from reaching the court corridors, the meeting of the two parties last Friday was very tense.
A new meeting between Pique and Shakira is scheduled to be held on Monday, where the custody of their two children, Milan and Sasha, will also be discussed.
The pair announced their split this summer after a relationship that lasted more than 11 years and resulted in two children, following claims that Pique had been having an affair with another woman.
And reports have revealed that Shakira and Pique had been negotiating the future of the two boys for the past few weeks, as Shakira wanted to move them to the American city of Miami.
In addition to the custody case for the two children, Shakira faces the possibility of eight years in prison and a fine of more than 23 million euros ($23.51 million) in the tax fraud case.
