In numbers … the wealth of the royal family in Britain was divided in this way!

The “Times” newspaper produced a report on the properties and assets of members of the royal family in the UK, and the newspaper confirmed that the figures contained in it were estimates.

King George VI was apparently the first to refer to the Royal Family as a “company”, and the family and its institutions can be compared to a large and wealthy company.

Adding up the value of buildings, land, mineral rights, art and more, the total fortune could be around £20 billion ($23 billion), a figure that would surpass Tesco’s current market value of £17 billion.

Over the past decade, the royal family’s wealth and holdings have grown faster than ever before in nearly 1,000 years.

The boom in real estate in recent years has increased the value of land and buildings. In just 10 years, the monarchy’s largest institutions, The Crown Estate and the Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall, doubled their wealth. By the end of March this year, the assets of these three institutions reached £18.3 billion, up from £9 billion in March 2012.

In addition to over 500,000 acres of land, they have hundreds of kilometers of British coastline, more seas than the entire land in Britain, palaces and castles and among their estates, Ascot racecourse, cricket oval and many more. Other head offices of private members’ clubs in London.

The newspaper noted that members of the royal family cannot sell assets they are said to own and are not liable for inheritance tax or income tax, and senior royals’ wills are not declared.

“Despite everything we can see about the wealth of the royal family, a lot of it is not clearly shown,” he said. In his long report, he listed the wealth of individuals and institutions of the royal family and their details.
