Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said, “We stand for justice wherever it may be, and there is an urgent need for a better world and justice,” emphasizing that “we reject the double standards of some countries,” and added, “We will stand firm and with proudly defend the rights of our people.”
In his speech to the UN General Assembly, Raisi emphasized that “the existing world order no longer enjoys support and a new order is beginning to take shape”, noting that “there will be no real justice and equality for all until double standards are put an end to.”
He clarified that “there are countries that fight terrorism selectively” and believed that “hegemony is painful around the world and poses a serious threat”, emphasizing that “America has sought to achieve its interests at the expense of the interests of the many and continues to evade”, and added that “America’s friends are no better off and what is happening in Europe today is a mirror image of what happened in Western Asia.”
The Iranian president carried a photo of Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani, who was killed by US forces in early 2020, commenting: “Former US President Donald Trump signed a document on the barbaric and illegal crime against Qasem Soleimani.”
Raisi pointed out that “the Iranian agreement was terminated unilaterally after it was signed and adopted in the Security Council.” “We are a strong supporter of the fight against terrorism throughout the region,” he said.
He stated that “Iran has become a strong country despite the sanctions imposed on it, and thanks to our knowledge and capabilities, we have been able to produce the most advanced systems to protect our country,” adding that “disagreements are not resolved by wars, but through dialogue.”
The Iranian President noted: “We have assured our neighbors that regional security must come from within and not be imposed from outside.”
He emphasized: “We do not seek to create or obtain nuclear weapons, and there is no place in our faith for these weapons,” explaining that “America is the one that got out of the nuclear agreement and destroyed it, and Tehran has shown great flexibility,” and added that “Iran signed the nuclear agreement in good faith and fulfilled all its obligations.” No exceptions, but America trampled him.”
Raisi stated, “Unprecedented repressive sanctions against Iran have been imposed on its people seeking freedom” and considered that “our demand for safeguards is based on our experience with America since it pulled out of the nuclear deal” and stressed that “we are serious about nuclear negotiations, and we have shown that there is a strong and serious will to resolve this issue.” All questions if our rights are respected.”
