Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said: “On February 7, 2022, US President Joe Biden said that Nord Stream would stop if Russia invades Ukraine … Biden must answer the question of whether the US carried out its threat.”

Earlier, the European Union expressed concern about “damage to the Nord Stream gas pipelines linking Russia and Germany with energy supplies via the sea, noting that “these incidents are not accidental,” saying that “all information indicates that an effective action has taken place, and we support the investigation to uncover what happened.”

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said yesterday that “the oil spill from Nord Stream was caused by a deliberate act.”

The Swedish Seismological Service said: “We have detected strong underwater explosions in areas around the Nord Stream gas pipeline, coinciding with monitoring of reduced gas flows.”

On September 26, the Danish Maritime Authority reported “a gas leak in the Baltic Sea near the route of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline connecting Russia with Germany.”
