Three Chinese coast guard ships have entered the country’s territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, Japanese coast guard officials said.

Japanese Deputy Prime Minister Yoshihiko Isozaki said the invasion of territorial waters is a “violation of international law”, calling it “extremely unfortunate and completely unacceptable.”

In this context, he noted that “Tokyo protested to Beijing in connection with the violation of international law”, noting that “this year, 27 encroachments by Chinese ships on its territorial waters have been recorded.”

There were no immediate comments from the Chinese authorities regarding the Japanese allegations.

Earlier, the Japanese Ministry of Defense said that “seven ships of the Chinese and Russian navies that sailed in the Pacific Ocean in the area of the Izu Islands south of Tokyo are considered part of the joint patrol.”

It is noteworthy that Beijing and Tokyo dispute the uninhabited Senkaku Islands, which, although under the control of Japan, but China claims the right of sovereignty over them and calls them “Diaoyu”.
