Targeting the German consulate in Kyiv and Berlin commitment!

The German Foreign Ministry announced that the building of the German consulate in the capital of Ukraine was hit by a Russian missile.

A number of rockets hit the center of Kyiv in the early hours of Monday morning, and the first explosions were recorded in a stadium near Kyiv National University.

Separately, at the same government briefing, a Defense Ministry spokesman said Germany expects to deliver an air defense system to Ukraine very soon and another three next year, without providing a specific timeline.

At least eight people have been confirmed killed in the attacks, but the number is believed to be higher.

Russia’s Defense Ministry, for its part, said Monday’s strikes, which targeted several regions in Ukraine, had “achieved their goal” after Ukrainian officials reported disruptions to electricity and water facilities.

After Ukraine announced that Russia had launched more than 80 missiles on Monday morning, he said: “The objective of the attacks was achieved. All targets were hit.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in televised statements on Monday that attacks of all kinds of weapons have been carried out on Ukrainian military positions and that the response will be “more severe” if “terrorist acts” are repeated.

Putin said Ukraine was “adopting terrorist methods” and carrying out numerous terrorist attacks and acts of sabotage against Russian civilian facilities and infrastructure.

Acknowledging that his country bombed several Ukrainian cities on Monday morning, the Russian president said: “We have attacked Ukrainian military sites with all kinds of weapons, and our response will be stronger than any terrorist act.”

Referring to the explosion on the bridge that connects the Russian mainland and Crimea, Putin said: Russia must respond to the explosion in Crimea and noted that the Ukrainian special services were behind the attack on the Crimean bridge.

Putin said that Ukrainian special services also tried to blow up the Turkish pipeline.

Putin added: “If the terrorist acts of Ukraine repeat, our response will be tougher and commensurate with what we are exposed to.”

The European Commission called the Russian missile attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities on Monday, which killed civilians and damaged civilian infrastructure, “horrific attacks”.

“These are barbaric and cowardly attacks,” UNHCR spokesman Peter Stano told a regular news briefing.

He described these attacks as a violation of international humanitarian law and said that these attacks represent a “further escalation” of the war in Ukraine, which is completely unacceptable.
