France says half of Ocean Viking children have fled

The French authorities informed this Friday that more than half of the minors who disembarked from the Ocean Viking migrant rescue ship last week fled migrant reception centers.

The Var regional council in southern France said in a statement that 26 of the 44 unaccompanied young migrants had escaped from reception facilities.

The official of that French regional department, Jean-Louis Masson, added that three minors they left the centers the day after their arrivalon November 11, the other 23 having left in the following days.
