This page details that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa visited the Pyramids of Giza and that the delegation was accompanied by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, and by the Portuguese ambassador to Egypt, Manuela Franco. The President of the Republic also made a guided visit to the area of the Sphinx.
The President of the Republic also visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, in Fustat. The context of the museum, on the Facebook page, explains that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa was received in this museum by Ahmed Ghoneim, general director of the Museums Authority.
“The President of Portugal made sure to leave a word in the museum’s guest book, during which he praised the museum and its distinguished archaeological collection,” the museum shares on the social network.
