UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed developments in the situation in the Republic of Sudan in a phone call with European Union Foreign Policy Commissioner Josep Borrell.
According to the Emirates News Agency, WAM: “The two sides reviewed ways to prevent continued escalation and work to maintain the security and stability of Sudan and its people.”
Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan pointed out the importance of working for the brotherly citizens of Sudan to enjoy security, stability and prosperity, reaffirming the UAE’s support for all efforts leading to stopping the escalation in Sudan and starting of a political dialogue to resolve the current crisis. .
On the morning of Saturday, April 15, clashes broke out between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, with both parties blaming the other for the escalation.
The Army says the Rapid Support Forces attacked its headquarters, while the Special Forces headquarters in Khartoum were attacked with “all kinds of heavy and light weapons.”
The Armed Forces of Sudan confirmed that “there was no negotiation or dialogue before the disbandment and disbandment of the rebel Hemedti militia”.
According to the Army General Staff: “There will be no dialogue or agreement with the Riot Forces until they end their lawlessness.”
Mohammed Hamdan Daglo, commander of the Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, reviewed the surrender of “Hamidti”, Head of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and Lieutenant General Shams Al-Din Kabbashi. This is the only solution in Sudan.
Al-Burhan requested the return of the Rapid Support Forces that entered Khartoum, saying that the Sudanese army still continues to judge the voice of reason.
Adding that great steps have been taken and that there are military bases that have not been touched, the Minister stressed that no one has infiltrated the General Command, that the issues are under control and that all strategic facilities are in under control.
Al-Burhan said that the Rapid Support Forces infiltrated the airport from the Hajj and Umrah hall and set fire to the army forces to confront them by burning several planes.
Al-Burhan also ordered the disbandment of the Rapid Support Forces and halting the deployment of all officers and personnel in light of current events in the country.
