Photograph of Elizabeth II with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren is released for the first time on her 97th birthday

The photograph of Elizabeth II with her great-grandchildren and minor grandchildren was shared on the social networks of the Princes of Wales on the occasion of what would have been her 97th birthday.

Queen Elizabeth II would have turned 97 this Friday, April 21. To commemorate the date, the Princes of Wales unveiled throught social media a photograph of the monarch accompanied by the youngest great-grandchildren and grandchildren that had never been released publicly and was taken by Kate last summer at Balmoral Castle.

The image shows Elizabeth II surrounded by her great-grandchildren: George, Charlotte and Louis, the children of William and Kate; Mia, Lukas and Lena, children of Zara and Mike Tindall; and Savannah and Isla Phillips, daughters of Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly. Standing behind the queen are her only grandchildren, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex. Archie and Lilibet, the children of Harry and Meghan, are not present.

The photograph is revealed a few days after the coronation of King Carlos III, which is scheduled for May 6. The hymn for the ceremony was commissioned to award-winning English composer Andrew Lloyd Weber, who composed the themes for the musicals “The Phantom of the Opera” and “Cats”, among many others.
