Chico Buarque begins this Friday series of concerts “Que tal um samba” in Portugal

The musician has performed several times in Portugal, the last one in June 2018, in a series of six concerts, with "caravans"

The singer-songwriter returns to Portugal to present “How about a samba?”a show that, according to the promoter of the shows, “promotes a tour of the decades-long work of Chico Buarquethat brings together compositions that have not been performed for a long time and other more recent ones”.

The shows will feature the Brazilian singer Monica Salmaso Guest.

At 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, there were still some tickets available for the Porto concerts. The capacity in Lisbon is exhausted in the three days.

Francisco Buarque de Hollanda, 78, with a musical career of more than five decades, also stands out in the world of letters as a writer of novels, short stories, poetry, theater and children’s books, with titles such as “Roda Viva”. , “Drop d’Água” and “Opera do Malandro”, “Little Yellow Hood”, “Benjamim” and “The German Brother”.

Chico Buarque was recently in Portugal to receive the Camões Awardwith which he was distinguished in 2019.

At the delivery ceremony of Camões, on April 24 in Sintra, Chico Buarque dedicated a distinction to “so many humiliated and offended authors” in “years of stupidity and obscurantism”, saying that “the fascist threat persists in Brazil and a little throughout the part”.
