The Interior Administration Minister said that ANA has invested in the requalification of the PSP squadron’s facilities at Lisbon airport, but admitted that “the conditions are not ideal.”
In the parliamentary committee on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees, the deputies asked José Luís Carneiro about the conditions in which the 57 elements of the PSP work at the Lisbon airport police station.
The minister recalled that the Lisbon airport “needs works on its infrastructure”, which is why the country is discussing the construction of a new airport.
“We have to be aware that the conditions of its infrastructure are what they are for all those who operated at the airport, PSP, SEF and operators of the responsible entity,” he said, noting that ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal has been making investments ” in the requalification of the conditions in which the police officers of the PSP are installed”.

The ruler held that the infrastructures “are not ideal”, but it has “become an object of investment in its requalification so that police officers can have all the appropriate security and dignity conditions for the exercise of professional activity.”
“Of course, when we have a new airport there will be better conditions, but we will not stop demanding that ANA-Aeroportos fulfill its duties to guarantee that those who serve the airport have the best possible conditions of dignity, taking into account all the airport infrastructure,” he needed. .
Last week, the Association of Police Professionals (ASPP/PSP) invited journalists to visit the “unconditioned” container where the 57 police officers are installed at the Lisbon airport.
