SATA administration co-opts Carla Neto and guarantees continuity of restructuring

After the group’s president, Teresa Gonçalves, left her position for “personal reasons”, SATA co-opted financial director Carla Neto as administrator to ensure “daily management”.

“The board of directors of SATA Holding will, therefore, have four effective members continuing with the work that was being carried out, restructuring and recovering the companies of this emblematic and essential company for the Azores,” the message reads.

The board of directors also appointed Bernardo Oliveira and João Crispim as non-executive directors, while Carla Neto remains as executive director of the group companies. “in order to guarantee the quorum necessary for the full functioning of the boards of directors of these companies”.

“The board of directors is operational and capable of assuming the daily management of the group and its subsidiaries, pending the appointment, by the shareholder, the Regional Government of the Azores, of a new board of directors,” guarantees the administration.

The administrators reveal that they trust that “it will be possible to continue with the excellent work” that has been done, “increase productivity and maximize results”.

The board of directors also says they believe “that it will be possible to maintain the character, commitment to quality, excellence, clarity and focus of everyone to make the group viable.”

Teresa Gonçalves’ resignation occurred four days after the final decision of the jury of the public tender for the privatization of Azores Airlines was announced.

In Lusa, on April 30, the last day at the head of the group, Teresa Gonçalves stressed that “she did not abandon” SATA.
