Russia shoots down 14 Ukrainian drones in three border regions
Russian anti-aircraft defense shot down 14 Ukrainian drones in the Russian border regions of Kursk, Oryol and Belgorod, a region that was attacked on Saturday night with 30 missiles, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
“An attempt by the kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist drone attack against targets in Russia was aborted in the early hours of Saturday night. “Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed ten drones over the Kursk region and three drones over the Oryol region,” the army said.
Russian forces also shot down a drone over Belgorod, around 8:00 am Moscow time (5:00 am in Lisbon).
This last region was the target of a Ukrainian attack the day before, with a Ukrainian ‘Neptune’ anti-ship missile and 29 Czech-made ‘RM-70 Vampire’ missiles, according to the defense.
According to local governor Viacheslav Gladkov, four civilians died as a result of Ukrainian attacks on Belgorod the previous day. “Unfortunately, the number of civilian deaths has increased to four people,” he wrote on Telegram, noting that another 12 people were injured.
