Russian attack helicopter crashes 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, killing its crew
A Russian Mi-28 attack helicopter has crashed in the Kaluga region in western Russia, with no survivors, the region’s governor said on Telegram. Vladislav Shapsha added in a second message that the helicopter was “on combat duty to protect the peace of civilians.”
The accident may have been caused by a technical malfunction, according to preliminary data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which confirmed the crash and death of the crew.
The helicopter, a Havoc used by NATO, crashed in a deserted area near the village of Klenki, more than 100 kilometers east of the border with Ukraine, the local authority of Zhisdrin municipality, where the crash took place, told TASS. Please enter location.
