An INEM helicopter made an emergency landing on Monday in Mondim de Basto, according to CNN and SIC Notícias. The occupants (medical team and pilots) only suffered “slight abrasions,” an official INEM source confirmed to the Observer.
According to CNN, the device had been called to help an injured person in a quarry in Mondim de Basto and fell on arrival at the scene.
According to the Civil Protection website, the alert was given at 12:21 p.m. and there are 38 operations supported by thirteen vehicles at the scene of the incident.
The victim who was injured in a fall at the quarry and who was assisted by the medical team will be transported to hospital by land.
