The Spanish Air Force plane carrying opposition candidate for the Venezuelan presidential election, Edmundo González Urrutia, landed at the Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base in Madrid at around 4pm on Sunday (local time). According to El Mundo, the aircraft had previously stopped at Lajes airport in the Azores.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Edmundo González, who is traveling accompanied by his wife and the Secretary of State for Foreign and Global Affairs, Diego Martínez Belío, was received by the Secretary of State for Latin America and Spanish in the World, Susana Sumelzo, in Madrid.
