Timor-Leste government announces construction of three new hospitals by 2025

“Ensuring that all citizens have access to essential healthcare, regardless of their economic circumstances” is the aim of the construction of the three new hospitals in East Timor.

The government of East Timor announced on Thursday the construction of three new hospitals in the municipalities of Manufahi, Ermera and Díli, starting in 2025, as part of the improvement of healthcare available to the population.

“In 2025, following the plan approved by the last Budget Review Committee, we will have a budget of around 700 thousand US dollars [cerca de 629 mil euros] to start the Rehabilitation and construction of several health centres and postsincluding three new general hospitals in the municipalities of Dili, Ermera and Manufahi,” said the Director General of Corporate Services at the Ministry of Health.
