It seems that the summer festivals are present not only in the city of Baalbek, but will also reach Beirut. A few days ago, the organizers of the Baalbek International Festival announced the return of concerts after the coronavirus pandemic, and the events will open on July 8 with a concert by artist Somaya Baalbaka. This is followed by a group of evenings, and the event ends on the 17th of the same month with a concert by Lebanese-French pianist Simone Grichi.

After Baalbek, it seems, the capital began to prepare for a bouquet of evenings, the features of which will soon be revealed. The information showed that an art event called “Lebanese Festivals” will be held at Martyrs ’Square in Beirut, and this will be the first collaboration of all Lebanese festivals. The festival will last for six days, and in a few days it will be known who will perform on these nights.
In recent years downtown Beirut has hosted several festivals, especially the Beirut Festival. However, over the past three years, this artistic activity has stopped due to demonstrations that began in the fall of 2019 and then the Corona virus crisis. Those nights were timid to return this year because of the economic crisis and the strong dollar against the Lebanese pound. This forced festival organizers to work with local artists and avoid contracts with foreign stars, as their salaries are paid in dollars.
