The data shows a significant decrease in imports from Russia

The first deputy head of the Russian Customs Service, Ruslan Davydov, indicated that imports of goods into Russia will fall this year to the level of 2020.

The official said, in an interview with Russia’s channel “RBK” on Monday, that the decline comes in light of logistical difficulties caused by the actions of hostile countries, due to the closure of ports and ban on Russian ships.

“Furthermore, we see that in the Baltic states and Poland, goods are artificially slowed down and subject to 100% inspection,” Davydov said.

He also noted that Russian carriers are “not allowed”, with the official of the Russian Customs Service saying: “This is real racism on a national level and that is why we say that there is a war. -economy. ”

With the decline of cargo transport operations in Western countries, the transportation of goods on the eastern and southern borders of Russia, specifically China and Kazakhstan, has intensified. “The infrastructure is actively expanding in these areas, in particular checkpoints and shipping routes,” Davydov said.

As part of the European sanctions imposed on Russia, the European Union, on April 9, banned the entry of trucks from Russia and Belarus into its territory, except for the transportation of certain types of goods.

A ban on the entry of Russian -flagged ships into EU ports was also imposed.

For its part, Russia imposed a ban on the entry of European trucks, starting on April 16, in response to measures in Europe.
