Formation is Nova SBE

Since 2019, Nova SBE is the first Portuguese school in the Financial Times world ranking of executive education. In 2022, it has a notable increase, also maintaining its position as the number 1 school in Portugal and number 22 in the world. But what is the reason for this secret? In fact, big and small things.

Nova SBE is presented as “an open door to the labor market”, with the aim of creating a community dedicated to the development of talent and knowledge with an impact on the world. To do this, it aims to bring together students, employees, collaborating organizations and governments, so that together they can find innovative and transformative solutions for society.

“Since we set out to create a global business school in Portugal, we have adopted an ambitious strategy of affirmation in the rankings of the Financial Times, the gold standard of international recognition. Today’s results, like those of other FT rankings, show that the global ambition of a public school in Portugal is possible and that the strategy we are following is the right one. We are sure that this path will take us even further in the coming years”, says Daniel Traça, Dean of Nova SBE.

For Nova SBE, work is not just about curricula and disciplines: collective growth is always valued. That is why it is one of the most focused Portuguese faculties in the world, with 339 exchange agreements in 55 countries. He also believes that the future passes through the business world, facilitating the integration of participants in the labor market and professional progression. With more than 1,500 corporate clients, it currently collaborates with 32 collaborating companies and 15 international business schools, to build training focused on the current and future challenges of companies.

Nova SBE Executive Education’s success story shows us that building the future is not the work of one person.

Nova SBE Executive Training is #1 in Portugal

It is already a worldwide classic. Every year (with the exception of the “pandemic” of the year 2021, given the difficulty in accessing the data) the Financial Times —founded in 1888 and probably the most reputable medium for economic and management news— compiles the ranking of the best schools of the world in executive training. This ranking aims to make a total X-ray of the educational reality. This means that it not only takes into account the present, but also the past and the future. All institutions are audited, new and returning students are interviewed (for example, salary three years after graduation is one of the criteria), and ultimately the total impact each course has on an individual and the society to which it belongs.

Three rankings emerge from this analysis: the first that evaluates the group of the best executive training schools in the world, the Open Programs and the Personalized Programs. From the outside, the news is not much: Nova SBE’s Executive Training stands out, once again, as the best Portuguese management training school. Looking at it differently, this year’s ratings are unanimous: Nova SBE has never been so close to the top. In the global evaluation of schools, Nova SBE Executive Training ranked 22nd worldwide. In the Open Programs table, the school ranks 20th, an increase of 27 places since the last evaluation. Finally, in Tailor-made Programs, Nova SBE Executive Training rises to 29th place. The final evaluation is a source of pride for the entire community: from 0 to 10, Nova SBE training courses have a rating of 9.31 (” Overall satisfaction”).
