The General State Budgets for 2022, the first with an absolute majority of the PS, were —as expected— approved. It deserved the abstention of the sole deputies of the PAN and Livre and of the three deputies of the PSD Madeira. These five MPs were also the ones who got the most changes passed.
Of a total of some 1,500 amendment proposals that entered the services of the Assembly of the Republic (changes are counted by article paragraphs), 140 were posted on the Parliament’s website, and of these 70 were from the opposition, a slightly different count. of Eurico Brilhante Dias, parliamentary leader of the PS, who referred to 119 amendments, with 66 from the opposition (counting only the amendments by article).
