Ohio’s healthcare system aims to lay off more than 600 U.S. information technology (IT) and revenue management professionals who outsource their jobs to a Fortune 500 outsourcing firm that imports H-1B’s foreign workers.
OhioHealth executives this month told 637 U.S. tech workers they would be laid off and handed their jobs to Accenture, a Fortune 500 multinational notorious for importing foreign H workers to replace Americans with white-collar positions.
More than 560 of the layoffs are in IT, while the remaining about 70 work in the company’s revenue management department, which deals with invoicing and receipts.
The first round of layoffs will take place in early November, and the second in early 2023.
Employing more than 14% of H-1B expatriate employees, Accenture has emerged as one of the country’s leading outsourcing firms. For example, in fiscal 2021, Accenture sought to outsource nearly 4,000 U.S. jobs to foreign workers holding H-1B visas.
This plan is part of a larger outsourcing-offshoring business model, where U.S. professionals are replaced by foreign H-1B workers who must be trained, and eventually the business is transferred to another overseas country, such as India, at low wages.
Accenture is one of many outsourcing firms lobbying lawmakers in Washington DC to significantly raise legal immigration levels to have a regular supply of foreign workers to reduce labor costs while increasing revenues and executive salary.
For example, last year Accenture joined Amazon, Facebook, Intuit Inc, AT&T, Verizon, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Alphabet, Deloitte, Microsoft Corporation, IBM, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Intel Corporation, and others in the lobbying leadership of President Joe Biden. when developing outsourcing business models.
Americans working in the STEM field across the United States face layoffs due to outsourcing programs.
Recently, approximately 140 US tech workers in Jacksonville, Florida were told they would be laid off and their jobs would be sent to leading Indian outsourcing firm H-1B Tata Consulting Services.
Breitbart News has documented abuses by US employees for years as a result of the H-1B visa program. There are approximately 650,000 H-1B foreign workers in the United States at any one time. Breitbart News highlights that Americans were often fired in the process and forced to train their foreign substitutes.
Almost all of the H-1B visa reforms implemented by former President Trump have been repealed by President Joe Biden. Last year, for example, Biden allowed companies rejected by the Trump administration’s H-1B foreign workers to reapply.
