The Portuguese Talkdesk, which provides technological services for contact centers, will reduce the number of workers. The news was advanced by the digital newspaper Eco this Friday.
This unicorn, a company valued at more than a billion dollars, justifies this reduction in the number of workers with the “economic context” and the need to align the resources at its disposal with “needs”.
“The changes in the team in Portugal and in other regions were carried out with the aim of better aligning resources with the company’s priorities and with the economic context, which includes reductions based on the level of performance and contribution”, indicates an official statement from the company. ., quoted by Echo.
“The departures represent a low single-digit percentage impact on the number of employees worldwide: we continue to have more than 1,000 professionals in Portugal and we are deeply proud of their contribution. Talkdesk business remains strong, with growing demand in the sector”, can still be read.
Talkdesk, founded by Tiago Paiva and Cristina Fonseca, achieved unicorn status in October 2018, when it closed a $100 million funding round at the time.
