CP — Comboios de Portugal warned this Friday of “disturbances in services” on Monday, August 15, pointing to the possibility of delays and suppression of trains “due to strike”.
In a statement, the operator said that, “due to a strike, there may be disruptions to services to be carried out on August 15, 2022, namely train delays and cancellations.”

The National Union of Railway Sector Workers (SNTSF) called this month for a strike notice for overtime, work on weekly rest days and work on holidays, stating that workers should use it to “express their discontent and their demand for appreciation of their salaries.
A source from the SNTSF told Lusa that the reasons for this strike are the 0.9% salary increasethat the union considers insufficient given the inflation registered in recent months, and the lack of workers in the company.
According to Abílio Carvalho, there is “almost an imposition” by the CP in which “workers almost necessarily have to resort to overtime.”
According to the trade unionist, as far as the SNTSF knows, “there will be no other union involved in this overtime strike”, which only protects the CP.
In the released statement, CP clarifies that “customers who have already purchased a ticket to travel on the Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, Interregional and Regional trains, refund will be allowedin the total value of the purchased ticket, or its free revalidationfor another train of the same category and of the same class”.
