Angolan airline TAAG strengthens domestic connections

The Angolan airline TAAG will increase the weekly offer of domestic flights starting on the 23rd, for the provinces of Benguela, Huila, Lunda-Norte, Moxico, Cunene and Huambo, it announced this Friday in a press release.

In total, there are 11 more air connections leaving Luanda for the cities of Catumbela (from four to seven), Lubango (from four to six), Dundo and Luena (from four to five), Ondjiva and Huambo (from two to four ) with Dash 8 Q400 aircraft.

TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola has just increased 11 new flights which will strengthen the existing connections in six provinces from north to south of the country, namely, Lunda-North, Benguela, huila, moxic, Huambo Y cuneno“, reads the statement.

The increase in the weekly offer of flights to the six provinces was justified by the “sustained growth in the domestic segment reflected in greater mobility and interest of private and corporate passengers in traveling within the Angolan territory“.

In the same statement, TAGG highlights that on the Luanda/Cabinda route, which it classifies as “one of the domestic destinations with the highest demand and passenger adherence”, about 90% of the flights will be operated by Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

It means that 23 of the 26 weekly flights to Cabinda are carried out on a larger plane, the B737 model (it carries 120 passengers in total) to respond to the high volume of passengers and cargo in transit between Luanda and Cabinda”, he adds.

“This strong commitment to internal connections will provide passengers with more round-trip options, allowing travelers to stay longer in those provinces with a positive impact on the local economythat is, in hotel, tourism, services or business prospecting matters, ”concludes the note.
