It had already happened a few times, but for specific periods and with small differences: this week, the average price of diesel for road use took off from that of gasoline 95, becoming eight cents more expensive. According to data from the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG), the average sale price of diesel, already with discounts, stood at 1,865 euros per liter at the beginning of this week, 9.4 cents more than the previous week. Gasoline 95 was sold at 1,781 euros per liter, almost the same price as the previous week
This is the first time there has been such a big difference to the more expensive diesel. The normal thing for at least more than a decade was that gasoline was more expensive than diesel, which is still the most consumed fuel in Portugal.
