The regional secretary for Youth, Professional Qualification and Employment has stressed that, given the unemployment indicators in the region, which “have been declining, and with a growing increase in the incorporation of employed people into the labor market”, the new “challenge”, that deserves “special attention”, has to do with the qualification.
This training also improves “asset conversion”namely, of unemployed with low qualification or without adequate qualification, for the exercise of a profession in a certain sector, according to the official.
It is necessary to look at these more fragile people, who have greater difficulties in integrating into the labor market and qualifying and retraining them, pointing out that they will be able to integrate into other work sectors where the market appeals to attract them”, he pointed out. said Maria João Carreiro, exemplifying with the case of the tourism, hotel and restaurant sector.
The minister explained that “we are in high season and we have to invest in the training of these workers in low season to maintain their job stability and the sector itself so that, in the next high season, we have qualified workers.”
Maria João Carreiro assured that the priority of the regional government (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM) “is from the beginning rehabilitate” those enrolled in the Employment Center and those who are in socio-professional insertion programs.

And, he added, “this is how the regional government has its purpose.”
It would be important to present this new version to the AHRESP, because it is a fundamental partner in defining the public policies of this government,” he said, guaranteeing that the executive “is attentive” to the issues raised by the association, which has been warning about the lack of labor in the restaurant and hotel sector.
“FORM.AÇORES” is aimed at the qualification and professional training of active and unemployed workers registered in the Qualification and Employment Center of the region.
With the new version, published this Monday in the Official Gazette, the measure is, on the one hand, only for those who are busy and, on the other hand, micro and small companies are included among the recipients of the consulting modality.that allows for on-the-job training.
“Companies, depending on their needs, will resort to the training measure”, explained the regional Secretary for Employment, noting that the measure is articulated with others in the framework of the creation and maintenance of jobs.
