Until now, the date on which the 125-euro subsidy promised by the Government to help deal with inflation would arrive in Portuguese bank accounts. But, according to State Counselor Luís Marques Mendes, this payment will begin to be made by financial services from October 20.
“This is a fact that was not known until today, but from what I have found, and it is true and safe, financial services will begin to be paid from October 20,” said Marques Mendes during a comment space on the SIC of this Sunday. news, insisting: “This family bonus, as of October 20, will begin to reach the accounts of the families that are entitled to it.”
Luís Marques Mendes did not reveal, however, the source of this information. Officially, the Government has not yet given details on the specific moment in which this subsidy will be paid. So far, the only information officially available is that the payment will be made during the month of October.
It is a support of 125 euros that will be deposited in the accounts of all taxpayers who receive a gross salary of less than 2,700 euros. Those who have children also receive an additional allowance of 50 euros for each child. This means, for example, that a couple with two children can receive 350 euros — two scholarships of 125 euros and two of 50 euros. The Observer has an explainer with various Q&As on the details of how this support works, which you can check out here.
