The president of the Liberal Initiative (IL) said this Sunday that the only certainty about TAP is that there will be a loss of taxpayer money During all the process.
In two years or so, one goes beyond the certainty that what [nacionalização] the right decision, the only certainty is that we are going to lose money and continue without quality service,” said João Cotrim de Figueiredo, who was speaking at the end of “Just X’IL” – National Meeting of the Liberal Youth Initiative, which It took place in Nazaré.
The IL leader was commenting on the Prime Minister’s statement, who said on Thursday that he expected TAP’s privatization to take place within the next twelve months.
“TAP was never intended to be privatized and is now going to be privatized quickly and of course money may be lost. The Prime Minister hopes that we, but we are all sure“, pointed out Cotrim de Figueiredo. The official described IL as the main role of criticizing the TAP nationalization process and helping in the context of the pandemic.

During the first part of his speech before an audience of young party members, Cotrim de Figueiredo also criticized the PS for not knowing “manage public affairs and public services“, protested against “bipartisanship” in Portugal and also spoke of the ‘irritation’ that IL causes António Costa.
“The prime minister loses his temper, loses his manners when he talks to the Liberal Initiative. We are moving where it hurts,” he noted.
Subsequently, Cotrim de Figueiredo spoke for 20 minutes, in a ted talk, about his idea of political culture for the party.
